Tungsten powder is made by hydrogen reduction of tungsten oxide or ammonium paratungstate (APT). The properties of the tungsten powder, such as purity and particle size, mainly depend on the reduction process. In the reduction of tungsten powder in tubular furnace, the main process parameters affecting reduction rate are reduction temperature, loading capacity of tungsten oxide, burning boat speed, hydrogen flow rate and moisture content in hydrogen. With the increase of reduction temperature, the grain size of tungsten powder becomes bigger. The typical range of the particle size is 0.4-30 µm by hydrogen reduction. We can provide crystalline tungsten powder with the particle size over 30 µm. Custom work is available, please contact us for RFQ.
